The whole object on the path is to let go of the ego.
What remains is your Self.
这条道路的整个目标是释放小我（ego），最后留下的是你的自性（真我）。

The only growth there is, is the eliminating of the ego.

Ego is the sense of "I am an individual separate from the
All." In the extreme, it is egotism.
小我是一种意识：我是与一切想分离的个体。它是极其自我中心的。

Growth is transcending yourself, your habitual self,
which is none other than ego.
成长是超越你自己、你的习惯性的自己----那仅仅是你的小我。

Growth is the ego getting out of its misery.
成长是小我脱离它的痛苦。

Recognize that all joy is nothing but your Self, more or
less.
认出所有的喜悦仅仅只是你的自性（真我）。

There is no happiness except that of experiencing your
Self. When you see that, it makes the path very direct.
You stop chasing the rainbow and you go for the
happiness where you know it is, right within you.
只有经验你的真我才能获得真正的幸福，当你看到这一点，这将使得道路变得非常直接。
你停止雕刻彩虹，直接走向幸福，你知道幸福只在你内。

佛陀在《圆觉经》中说：“心如幻者，亦复远离；远离为幻，亦复远离；离远离幻，亦复远离。得无所离，即除诸幻。”

觉悟的根源实在讲就是在私心，自私自利要是放不下，你永远不会觉悟，为什么呢？起心动念是我，一切为我，为我家，为我的团体，这是迷不是觉。觉悟的人没有私，起心动念是公，起心动念一定是为别人、为社会、为整个人类！那是觉，觉跟迷根源就在此地，一个是公一个是私，大公无私这个人觉悟了，自私自利这个人迷惑了，迷了就是魔，觉了就是佛，我们学佛，对这个道理不能不懂！
