CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE  THE CHECKBOOK EXERCISE

We're going to be taking a look at something that really gets in the way of our having abundance. It's very simple, easy to use and is absolutely fabulous in knocking out whatever's in the way of us having abundance--and that's your checkbook. Every time you take your checkbook out and write a check, whether it be a credit card payment, a medical bill, mortgage payment, whatever--if you have a clutching going on, that's exactly what's in the way of you having abundance. It's literally stopping you. And so if you'll feel the clutching, let it go and allow that energy to come up and pass through, you'll open up the flow of abundance.
On top of your checkbook, I suggest you write or paste something there that says, "Release." If you are home, you may want to take your checkbook out and look at the bills you pay on a monthly basis. Either that or you can look at the page of blank checks on the facing page.
Then turn to page 148.

The Check Exercise

Every time we begin to write a check, it's an opportunity to release our resistance to having abundance. Just simply writing a check will show you what's in the way to having total abundance. Sometimes we "clutch" or resist our feelings about the check, thus we can now bring up what's in the way of having abundance from our subconscious thoughts to a conscious level and release those lacking feelings. This is a very powerful way of having abundance fast,
Suggestion: Write the word "Release" on the front of the checkbook to remind you to release feelings of lack or resistanc. Don't send the check until you feel 100% released on it and the people you are sending the check to. If you do this consistently, you will be eliminating what you don't want in your mind and be left with what you do want: abundance. Doing this is certain to lead to vast abundance. Try it! You'll like it!

I want you to imagine writing your mortgage payment or your rent payment. Just close your eyes and see if any clutching comes up with regard to it. See yourself writing this check, the name of the bank, the name of the landlord, and see if there's any clutching that goes on. Does the amount of money involved cause a clutching or resistance in your feeling center? If it does, could you just let go of the clutching? And more. And more. And even more. Now look at the check again. See if there's any remaining resistance or clutching. Put your head down. Feel the energy. It wants to leave. It's not good, it's not bad, it's just passing through. It's phenomenon. And just allow that energy to leave. And more. And more. And more.
If you want to open up the energy to allow yourself to have a greater abundance than you have now, I recommend that you don't send the check until you feel 100% good about it. Just let go of 100% of your resistance and only send it when you're 100% released and OK about it. Remember to just let go of anything in the way. Maybe it's a feeling of "I haven't got enough," "I don't like it," or "It feels funny." Whatever the block is, just allow yourself to feel that energy and allow it to just pass through.

Now think about a credit card payment if that's real for you. See if you have a clutching when you're writing a check or you even cringe at the mere imagination of doing so. And just allow that energy to come up and just allow it to pass through. And more. And even more. Now think of another check you have to write, should write or must write. Put your head down. See if it brings up any resistance, any clutching. Let go of resisting and clutching and just allow that energy to pass through. It wants to leave. And more. And even more. And see how you feel about the check now. See if there's any resistance, any clutching, any feelings of "I haven't got enough," "I shouldn't do it," or any other insecure feelings—a sensation of wanting to be safe. Could you just let go of that lacking feeling? Just allow it to come up and allow it to pass through. And more. And even more. And allow that energy to come up and allow it to pass through. It's not good, it's not bad. Just allow the energy to pass through. And more. And even more.
You may want to stop here. Take out your monthly bills that you have to pay and your checkbook (or the checks included in this chapter). Then just write the checks one at a time. Notice if there's clutching or resistance. If there is, just allow it to leave and just continue to release until you feel 100% good about the check. Then, every time you take the checkbook out, if you have resistance, you can release the "I can't" feelings in your feeling center. That's the energy holding you back from having more abundance. It's right in front of your nose. I suggest that you never send a check until you feel terrific about it, whether it be a lawyer's check or any kind of check to which you harbor resistance. Just sit down and release on it. Then send the check, feeling 100% good about it. This creates a flow and the flow creates momentum in as well as out. Just allow the flow of abundance to come in as well as out. Now take some time to do this check exercise on all of your bills. It's a good idea to get in the habit of using the check exercise on all your bills--every time you have to write a check. If you do, you'll be amazed at how this will increase your abundance with ease. This single exercise alone will move you to courageousness, acceptance, abundance and peace.

THE GOOD AND BAD EXERCISE

Now let's take a look at the subject of good and bad. It's important to release on things that are good and bad. You see, we have many feelings about what's good and what's bad suppressed in our subconscious mind, but we never look at them. For every good, there has to be a bad. Likewise, for every bad, there has to be a good. It's just like the attachments and aversions. By not releasing them, we are continually perpetuating this good and bad energy. Therefore, we continually hold on to resistance with the subject of good or bad. It's a good idea to release on everything so eventually there is no good or bad feeling suppressed in your subconscious mind. Then you're not resisting this energy subconsciously and, therefore, allowing the flow of abundance to come to you easily. It's a fun exercise, too.
If something is good we have a tendency to hold on to it and stop releasing. If something is bad, we suppress it because we don't want to look at it. At this point, we also stop releasing. Doing this exercise will enable you to decide to release all the time.

Does it bring up a wanting of approval, control or safety? Could you let go of whichever want it brings up? And what's bad? Could you let that go? And what's good? Could you see it as a wanting of approval, control or safety? And whichever want it brings up, could you let it go? Now what's bad? See if there's any resistance there, a clutching. And just allow that energy to come up and pass through. It's not good, it's not bad, it's just phenomenon passing through. And what's good? Just allow that energy to pass through. Let go of holding on to it. And what's bad? And just allow that energy to come up and pass through.
If something's good, we're probably going to try to hold on to it and keep that nice feeling. If something's bad, we're going to resist and suppress it--so, either way, you're practicing suppression. That's why it's good to let go of all this stuff and just allow it to pass through. Remember that we are practicing opening up the releasing muscle and making it easier to release. So what's good? Could you let go of whatever energy is stirred up? And what's bad? Could you let it go? And what's good? Could you let it go? And what's bad? Could you let it go? And what's good? Could you let it go? And what's bad? And could you let go of holding on to that? And what's good? And could you let go of holding on to that? And what's bad?
